Dr. Stefan Meilak LL.D

Graduated Diploma Notary Public (University of Malta) in 1985 and Doctor of Laws (University of Malta) in 1986. Joined Farrugia Gatt and Falzon Advocates as a partner in 1989.

Areas of practice: civil and commercial litigation, general civil law particularly in the field of property/real estate law, residential lease agreements, inheritance law and contract law; commercial law particularly in the field of franchising, commercial leases and commercial agreements.

Dr. Joseph Bonnici LL.D. Adv.Trib.Eccl.Melit

Graduated in 1980 as a Notary Public, and in 1981 as a Doctor of Laws. Obtained warrant to practice as a lawyer in 1982.Was a freelance advocate until 1998 when he joined Farrugia, Gatt and Falzon as a partner.

Areas of Practice – Civil Law, Family Law, Insurance and Industrial Law.

Dr. Bonnici also occupies the post of Chairman of the Industrial Tribunal and Umpire of the Social Security Appeals Board. Chairs several Disciplinary Boards, both in the public and private sector.

Graduated B.A., legal & Humanistic Studies, (Philosophy), in 1998, diploma Notary Public in 1999, and Doctor of Laws in 2001. Was granted the warrant to practice as an Advocate in January 2002. Practiced the profession of freelance advocate, till October 2002, where subsequently was employed within the Government Property Division, as a Junior Legal Officer, subsequently in 2004, was promoted to Legal Officer. He represented and gave advice to Government, on a variety of issues, in relation to government owned land, including property acquired from the Church, through the Church State Agreement. He is also familiar with issues relating with expropriation of private land. In January 2007, took private practice again, as a partner within the Legal Firm, ‘Farrugia, Gatt and Falzon.”

Dr. Pio Valletta

Graduated as a ‘Teaching Pedagogy’ from the University of Malta and gave her services within the Ministry of Education.  In the meantime she also graduated in a Diploma course ‘Business Management and Human Resources’ which enabled her to apply and get the role of a Manager within the Animal welfare Directorate, Ministry of Resources and Rural Affairs.  This career change involved regular hours in court, which was a crucial part of her working life since her office was in charge of handling and reporting possible or actual animal abuse.  This made her realize the alluring importance of law and its enforcement, thus once again she enrolled herself at the University of Malta, and later graduated in Law with a Degree LL.B., (Hons.) in 2016 and then in a subsequent Master of Advocacy M.Adv.(Melit.) in 2017. She was granted the warrant to practice as an Advocate in February, 2018. She did her practice within the Legal Firm, ‘Farrugia, Gatt and Falzon’.

Graduated and obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in 2017 from the University of Malta. He submitted his Research Project titled “The Importance of Maritime Security in the Mediterranean: An International Law Approach”. During his studies he joined Farrugia, Gatt & Falzon Advocates as a legal trainee.In 2018, he graduated and qualified as a lawyer following his Masters of Advocacy (M.Adv. Melit.).

Subsequently, in 2019 he was admitted to the Maltese bar and granted the warrant to practice as an advocate. Became partner at Farrugia, Gatt & Falzon Advocates in 2020 .

Areas of practice: Civil Law, Family Law, Commercial Law and Criminal Law.
